Exmouth

On the River Exe's mouth's east bank and southeast of Exeter by (18 km) 11 miles, Exmouth /ˈɛksməθ/ is a seaside resort, civil parish, and port town. Making Exmouth Devon's 5th most populous, it had a population of 34,432 in 2011. Known as Exmouth Quay, a residential complex have replaced these. Exmouth was the residence of Lord Nelson's estranged wife, Lady Nelson.

When Exmouth's first railway line in 1861 was built, this changed by bringing with mass tourism. During the Victorian era with the arrival of the railway, the buildings in Exmouth were constructed. Opened in 1946, Rolle College became the Exmouth campus of the University of Plymouth. Along with neighbouring coastal towns east of the Exe, Exmouth lies within the East Devon district.

At the eastern end of the seafront near Maer Road is Exmouth LS. With qualified watch keepers that volunteer keeping an eye out for walkers and sailors, the National Coastwatch Institution maintains a Watch House in Exmouth. When it became the headquarters of Exmouth Rowing Club, the boathouse that is old was retained until 2014 as a lifeguards' base.

The leading football team is Exmouth Town F.C. and play in the South West Peninsula League. Established in 2014, Exmouth is home to the Polesanders Beach Rugby Club. Ranging from cob cottages in parts of the town that were once villages and are incorporated into it, such as Withycombe, to the Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian town houses, Exmouth has a wide range of architecture.

In Exmouth RNLI, it is regarded as the worst tragedy. A commuter town for Exeter is Exmouth, to which it has good transport links by train and bus. Renowned for the wealthy to recover their health was Exmouth. When it was known as Lydwicnaesse, "the point of the Bretons", Exmouth Point's recent occupation of humans to the 11th century can be traced back.

For though dedicated to the Holy Trinity, an ancient chapel, in 1412 was standing, all of its traces some centuries ago disappeared, Exmouth until this church's erection was without an episcopal worship place. The western end of Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site is marked by Exmouth, which stretches eastwards along the coast to Dorset's Poole; the Path of the South West Coast allows for walking along this coast.
